About

Brands built on clear thinking.

People come to Heat at different moments. Some arrive with an idea they want to turn into a business. Others have built successful organisations that no longer reflect who they have become.

At first glance, those may seem like different challenges. They usually begin in the same place: understanding what makes the organisation genuinely distinctive.

The answer is rarely sitting neatly in the brief. More often, it is hiding in plain sight, in a conversation, a contradiction, an overlooked strength or a pattern no one has quite noticed yet. Our job is to find it, shape it and build everything around it.

That is where design becomes useful. The offer becomes clearer. The language becomes sharper. The identity has a reason to exist. The website knows what it needs to say. Decisions that once felt subjective become easier to make.

Founded by Stephen Taylor in 1999, Heat remains deliberately small. That is a choice. It allows us to work directly with clients, think carefully about the work and bring together the right people when a project needs them.

We work across brand, identity and digital, with experience spanning international foundations, cultural organisations, publishing, luxury, property, charities and founder-led businesses. Increasingly, we are applying the same thinking to hospitality, where brand, place and experience need to work as one.

Good branding is not about making something look different for the sake of it. It is about making something make more sense, so people understand it more quickly, remember it more easily and believe in it more readily.
